- extraordinary: a priest with permission from the bishop
- if the bishop cannot attend and on the Easter Vigil

- those who have been previously baptized, but are unconfirmed and in need of the completion of the Baptismal graces; or those entering the Catholic Church who have been baptized in another faith
- the Church does not recognize confirmations of other faiths because they are not done the same way

- full outpouring of the Holy Spirit
- you receive the fullness of the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

- 5. knowledge
- 6. piety
- 7. awe (fear of the Lord)
